My name is Kara. I am a Cork-based researcher and lecturer, but I have always thought of myself as a collector of stories. While my professional work involves navigating the complexities of criminology and social justice, this site is a return to a much older version of myself. Long before I was writing a doctoral thesis, I was exploring the world through film production and digital journalism. I have always been fascinated by how we choose to document our lives, yet I eventually found that my own memories were being swallowed by the noise of the digital age.
This log is a personal anthology where I am giving myself permission to be messy and experimental. Whether I am sharing twenty seven photos to recapture the feeling of an old disposable camera or testing out a rough sketch or an audio clip, the goal is simply to be present.
This is not a portfolio or a professional archive. It is a quiet corner of the internet where I am reclaiming my time and my focus. It is an honest record of 2026, told through the mediums that have always made me feel most alive.
